If you're in the market for an affordable set of coilovers that won't break the bank, then the Tein Street Basis Z coilovers would make for a great option. These are ride height adjustable coilovers that will improve handling, performance, and the stance of your vehicle. These coilovers feature a sealed structure, in which Tein designed the body to have a narrow shell pipe to allow oil and gas to be injected, Then the body is then completely sealed.

Ride height can be adjusted by moving the lower spring seat either up, or down, making level adjustment simple and efficient. Additionally, the Street Basis Z coilovers utilize a twin-tube system which attains a longer stroke with a smaller repulsive force which provides better ride comfort. This design makes the coilover suitable for all kinds of road conditions which will make for smoother rides at lower speeds, while having more stability on higher speed levels.

With the Street Basis Z coilovers, users will re-use their OE upper mounts to complete installation, and these coilovers will come supplied with an optimal dust boot, no-sag springs, and the coilovers will come powder-coated in Tein's flagship green powder-coat finish for protection against corrosion.

These are incredibly comfortable as far as ride quality. My old struts needed replacing and overall, it's a great value versus buying oem from Subaru! Night and day difference.

For a basic non-adjustable coil over, I’m pleasantly surprised! Slightly stiffer than the stock struts, but comfortable. Improved handling and straight forward installation. Subimods was a pleasure to deal with as well!

Get what you pay for, but the ride quality isn't terrible.

No issues with the purchase from Subimods, my only issue was with the assembly instructions that came from Tein. They had it wrong on the fronts. After assembly per the instructions, the ride height was much lower up front and seemed to be off from what Tein lists on their website for this model. After watching a couple videos, I saw them placing 2 parts in a different order than the instructions showed, so I did the same and boom, problem solved. So yeah, no issues with Subimods, just an issue with the Tein instructions so that's why I had to dock it down a star. Otherwise, the ride quality isn't bad at all, not too stiff but stiffer than stock. Makes a little noise in low speed zones and when starting off from a stop that I haven't been able to narrow down/fix yet, but the higher speed (45+ mph) it takes the bumps great. Overall so far I'm happy with the purchase. We'll see how they hold up in a year or so and post back the results.
