I have a Cobb shift plate, brass shift bushing, positive shift kit, pitch mount, group n trans mount, driveshaft lockdown, rear differential lockdown…. All in efforts to get a better shift feel. This was the sprinkles on top. Not a big mod in and of itself, but a good compliment to other shifter mods. It took me 3 hours to install going slow. I have a 24 wrx premium 6M and I did not have to remove the pitch mount (nothing under the hood) and I was also able to do all the bolts without dropping the transmission. I just jacked up the car, put it on stands, and did the install. The top bolt is as much of a PITA as you’ve heard. It’s tight up there. I should add I have the solid stock exhaust. But if you get the 6mm hex key up there and twist it into the hole, it can be taken out by hand once you break it free. None of the bolts leaked much transmission fluid. I plugged the hole with one finger and swapped the spring to the new bolt with the other hand. I put the supplied o-rings for all the other bolts on first. The difficult one, you need to reuse the stock o-ring. And careful, it’s soft metal and will strip pretty easy. I got all mine in and snugged them up by hand. Overall, its worth doing if you’re trying to put the finishing touches on your shift feel. Not sure how it would feel on a stock setup.
