Swap out your overheated factory top mount intercooler for the PERRIN Front Mount Intercooler to get the most out of your turbocharged STI. Add power and a new bold look all in one. Part of the reason for the gain is that the intercooler is less restrictive than OEM, and also cools the charge air better. In this case, the PERRIN FMIC knocked off about 40F from the intake charge temperatures!

The most important part of any intercooler system is the core. The core cools the charged air on the way to the engine. The factory Subaru tube and fin intercooler was designed to be easy to manufacture, but is not good for performance.

Our testing has shown the optimum core design is the 3/8” bar and plate style that has a 3/8” charge air and ambient air path, instead of the common 1/4” size. The PERRIN bar and plate core design is much more durable than tube and fin with the ability to withstand rocks and other debris, which may enter the scoop. The PERRIN intercooler core is 28” long x 9.25” tall x 3.5” deep with a volume of 906.5 cu-in. giving the PERRIN Intercooler the best overall design for cooling and pressure drop!

  • CNC Mandrel bent aluminum boost tubes with bead rolled ends with a powder coat finish
  • Aluminum coolant overflow tank for additional clearance, finished with Black textured powder coat
  • Aluminum high capacity washer fluid tank for additional clearance

Great FMIC, fit perfect and low air temps

Between my stock TMIC, Mishimoto TMIC and then this Perrin FMIC, I’ll take the Perrin one as long as I’m not a stock turbo.

Stock turbo on the STIs has noticeable turbo lag.. however mine being upgraded to a much larger turbo I notice very little turbo lag and my charger air temp is crazy low compared to the TMIC options.

Only Company to do this color

Love the kit everything was great fitment wise didnt take long at all to install only reason it is a 4 star is the coolant overflow tank sucks, Bad gasket or something on top were the cap is connected to the tank. Everything else 5 star for sure
