The Motul 8100 Series is 100% synthetic engine oil that has been formulated, developed and tested according to the most recent technical requirements of petrol and diesel engines. Motul 8100 has synthetic base stocks and specific friction modifier molecules that provide an outstanding oil film resistance, reducing friction in the engine, maintaining the oil pressure, and generally decreasing the operating temperature. 8100 provides outstanding lubricating properties against wear while offering high temperature resistance and controlled oil consumption. Smooth operation.

I thought I’d try motul out just to see if there’s a difference over Penzoil Ultra Platinum, which is what I replaced. Both help to quiet down the engine and both seem to run pretty equivalently. I did notice the oil temps went up a little. I was seeing 208-212F operating temps on the Penzoil. With the Motul I see more 210-215. Not drastic or concerning really. They’re both premium products. Overall I have no complaints with either when running 5w30 in socal weather.

Great Oil!!

Love this oil, been running it in an EJ255 turbo for about 2 years now, never lose/burn oil anymore! Was running mobil1 and would lose 1/2QT every 2,000 miles. Since this switch my oil level stays the same for 5000+miles
