DETAILS
IAG Performance and Nostrum have teamed up to deliver the IAG Spec FA24 High-Pressure Fuel Pump by Nostrum, a direct-fit upgrade for 2022+ WRX, 2019+ Ascent, 2020+ Legacy XT Sport, and 2020+ Outback XT & Wilderness models equipped with the FA24 2.4L engine. As the first and only complete high-pressure fuel pump upgrade available for FA24 engines, this pump is engineered to significantly increase fuel flow, supporting higher power output and improved overall performance.
The IAG Spec FA24 High-Pressure Fuel Pump delivers up to 37% more fuel flow than the factory Subaru pump, allowing the engine to support increased boost at lower RPMs and resulting in noticeable gains in low-end torque. For maximum fuel system performance, this pump can be paired with the IAG Spec FA24 High-Flow Direct Fuel Injector Set by Nostrum, which offers a 24% increase in flow over OEM injectors and further expands horsepower potential.
This high-pressure fuel pump is fully compatible with E85 and blended ethanol fuels. E85 provides several performance advantages, including cooler combustion temperatures, improved resistance to detonation, and increased horsepower potential. When properly tuned and paired with E85-compatible fuel system components, the pump delivers consistent, reliable fuel supply even under the demanding conditions associated with ethanol-based fuels.
In terms of performance capability, the pump supports up to 725 wheel horsepower on gasoline and up to 585 wheel horsepower on E85, based on a 6500 RPM power peak, appropriate BSFC values, 75% volumetric efficiency, and 90% driveline efficiency. The pump features a 37% displacement increase over stock due to its larger 11.67 mm bore compared to the OEM 9.98 mm bore, with a geometric displacement of 1.597 cc per revolution and a maximum operating pressure of 200 bar (20 MPa / 2900 psi). Tuning is not strictly required after installation, but is recommended for optimal results. COBB tuning support is available for WRX, Ascent, Legacy, and Outback platforms, with WRX support beginning with 2022 models.
Installation is straightforward, as the IAG Spec FA24 High-Pressure Fuel Pump mounts directly to the factory Subaru pump location using the same mounting base. Nostrum’s precise fitment and included hardware eliminate the need for modifications, allowing the install to be completed in about an hour with basic hand tools by someone with moderate mechanical experience. While the pump operates with the stock ECU, pairing it with proper tuning and supporting fuel injectors will yield the best performance results.
