If you’ve ever taken your oil cap off while the engine is running and watched it chooch out a sick vape cloud, you know why it’s called a Blow-By Retention Cap. Under that cap… what’s in there anyway? We know there’s oil in that engine, but what else? Dirt? Bearing material? Ethanol? Water? AOS Sludge? Ring lands? We may never know all of it, but we do know it’s Mostly oil.  We also know you’re probably running Rotella T6 diesel oil in there and totally ignore what Subaru says to run.

So there you have it, a Blow-By Retention Cap that says Mostly Oil and Ignore Owners Manual.

Cap is clocked to the correct position to be sure your OIL cap doesn’t say 710.
