This intake and integrated airbox looks great and combines the benefits of a short ram and cold air intake without the downsides. It features unique design elements to maintain optimal flow and minimize turbulence that can cause engine management issues. A custom conical cloth filter connects to a CFD-designed velocity stack and an air straightener grid that smooths airflow past the MAF sensor for accurate readings, eliminating "dead spots" found in other intakes. No other Subaru intake uses these elements. The one-piece high-temp plastic composite design saves weight and rejects heat better than metal, keeping intake temps cooler. The SF Air Box adds cold air intake benefits by enclosing the SF Intake and blocking hot engine bay air, while also preventing rainwater ingestion—unlike in-fender intakes.

This SF Airbox Kit includes a New Subaru OEM Air Duct that provides fresh air from behind the grill directly into the airbox. This duct is REQUIRED for compatibility with the 2018 STI Type RA and 2019 STI.
