The DM-1 V2 shifter is expertly designed and the strongest option in the market for Subaru drivers. With a 50% shorter throw than OEM, it provides an unparalleled driving experience. Crafted with precision and top-quality materials, including billet aluminum and custom CNC machined U-joint with four ball bearings for a smooth shift. The patented design of the DM-1 V2 sets it apart from all other short shifter packages. Made in the USA by DARKMATTERX.

The optional centering mechanism of the DM-1 V2 shifter is a finely crafted combination of billet aluminum components, twin detents, a torsion spring, and an ENDURO MAX radial bearing, resulting in precise movements. Compared to the OEM feel, the spring pressure has been increased, giving a firmer shift when moving the shifter out of center. Working in tandem with the centering mechanism inside the transmission, this feature greatly assists with shifting through the entire "H" pattern, ensuring a smooth and accurate transition between gears. Additionally, the DM-1 V2 comes standard with a shift stop, providing a mechanical feel when selecting 1st or 2nd gear by physically stopping the shifter on a low friction Delrin surface. Our chassis mounted design secures the foundation of the DM-1 V2 in a fixed position relative to the driver, preventing any change in position during extreme driving conditions. This also allows for efficient energy transfer, without the use of soft rubber

Centering Mechanism:

  • If you purchase the optional centering mechanism with the shifter itself DARKMATTERX will install the mechanism on the shifter assembly so you receive a complete unit at no extra cost! 

 Fitment Notes: 

  • 2008-2014 WRX With 5-speed transmissions, must install the 6-speed transmission shift arm with the DM-1 V2 shifter. Subaru part number: 35041FG010. The 5-speed leather boot needs to be switched out with the corresponding years STI leather boot, or the boot's opening needs to be cut large enough to fit around the DM-1 V2 boot collar. The OEM shift arm is available in our store.
  • 2008-2021 STI The DM-1 V2 shifter fits the 08+ STI models with no additional parts necessary

Night and Day Differences From Stock Shifter.

An amazing product. Was a little hesitant about installing it myself but ended up just doing it and it wasn't to bad. Took about 5 hours. After had to take it for a test and make some adjustments, it kept jumping out of second gear. Had to remove the 2nd gear lock out that they provided to fix the issue. And make some changes so my car would go in reverse. Other than that I have been loving the shifter and the shifts are so quick and smooth.

P.S. If you do not get the shift arm that goes with the shifter well regardless you will have to remove the OEM one to get the shifter in. That was the biggest pain out of it all.

Absolutely amazing

Yes you can get the same short throw from something cheaper. But you can get the quality of the shift like this. Install was super easy. My 14 year old daughter helped install.
