There are many options to protect your intercooler, some are bulky, heavy, or simplistic. SMY has taken what is offered in the market and tried to create a product that just more than prevents debris from messing up your intercooler fins. We wanted to create a product that protects your intercooler, makes your engine bay look more appealing, and lasts. Our intercooler cover not only looks amazing but it is not heavy or uses any of that cheap chicken wire mesh. The hexagon mesh installed on our product matches the theme.

      SMY Intercooler Shroud

      Solid protection

      Each side has a mounting bracket that uses 3m tape to adhere underneath the intercooler keeping the guard on tightly. 5 minutes tops for the install even being excessive cleaning the surface. It does help prevent bent fins from daily use so its worth the trade of slightly higher intake temps as i dont drive the car hard often.

      This is necessary for my 2024 Ascent

      About a month after buying my brand new 2024 Ascent I noticed there were bugs on my intercooler so I went to remove them by hand and some of my fins got bent. I found this product and ordered it. It was simple to install and looks great too. I don’t notice any drivability issues whatsoever. I don’t know why Subaru doesn’t include this with there vehicles.

      Easy and affordable protection

      While not an obvious mod, an easy and useful one. After 8000 miles the fins on my VB’s inter cooler had a few dents. This is an easy install that’s, high quality and also fits the engine bay without calling only the maker’s logos out. Tasteful and easy to install. (One note, don’t forget to hand thread the screws WITH the plastic caps on. After this picture I corrected that)
