Perrin Driveshaft Lockdown Kit 2008-2021 WRX / 2008-2021 STI

This was the part i needed all along. If ur subi is jerky when letting go of the gas in 1st or 2nd. Or ur simply driving at the parking lot in 1st gear or shifting into 1st is jerky even with rev match. This helps eliminate that. This mod has put the biggest difference in my subi. Also with the help of my group n pitch mount the jerkyness is gone. Shifting and down shifting is way better. The nvh is non existent didnt notice anything when driving if ur worried about that. So if u want to definitely smoothen out ur drivetrain this is the mod to go with. Try this first before switching to a stiffer tranny mount or pitch stop mount. Installing it wasn’t bad just a tight space a electric 3/8 ratchet will help put alot. Hopes this help ppl solve that super duper jerky sloppy drivetrain on most ppl subies especially if there older.

This lockdown takes the majority of slop from the center carrier bushing. Power feels more direct. Easy install

I put this on my car today and wow. It's very noticable. 1st gear cruising, 2nd as well, barely bucks at all. The shift from 1st to 2nd is soooo much smoother. All shifts for that matter. Up, down, whatever. Rev matching is smooth as butter now. It used to buck some if you didnt get the rev match perfect. Full disclosure I have the group n transmission mount, Cobb pitch stop, positive shift bushings, Cobb shift plate w/ Perrin brass bushing, and diff inserts. But I can say in combination... it's super smooth. Almost as smooth as a standard (non CVT) type automatic. It will always still feel like a stick to others in the car, but from behind the wheel it makes the car feel really planted and direct with the power delivery. Technically I'm putting down more torque and horsepower with less drivetrain loss. But it almost doesn't feel that way just because theres way less drama/kicking when aggressively shifting. Highly recommend this mod. I got the solid carrier bushings as well, but the stock ones were such a PITA to get off, I just gave up and stuck with the stock ones.

Definitely felt a difference after installing. The only negative I would say is the bolts that come with it are Allen heads and it’s difficult torque without stripping them out. I ended up getting bolts with 10mm head and installed it and torqued them and it turned out great. Highly recommend

Quick and easy installation. Needed to drop the cat back at the mid pipe connection to access the driver’s side carrier bearing bolt. After that install was quick and easy. Took less than an hour from start to finish.

This part provides a noticeable difference when running around town at part throttle. Gets ride of some of the flex in the drivetrain at low speeds. 100% recommend this mod!
