Perrin CVT Transmission Mount Support 2022-2024 WRX CVT / 2014-2023 Forester XT / 2020-2023 Outback / 2020-2023 Legacy / 2019-2023 Ascent

I have a 2018 fxt and after installation it seems to be shifting smoother. Very easy to install just make sure you have a torque wrench and a 19mm socket. It torques to 30ft lbs

Works perfect on a 2018 Subaru crosstrek. Maybe people have issues because they don’t follow the instructions. The only thing I did different was that I put loctite on the threads as the trq is only 30ftlbs. That’s basically oil drain plug tightness. I would say it took away a noticeable amount of movement from the transmission. If there is noise I can’t hear it over the hiss of the RF audio upgrade. As for harshness I drive a crosstrek so I wouldn’t be able to feel it. I did purchase this item elsewhere but I like to chime in when someone leaves a bad review for Perrin items. 99.9% of the time its installer error. If you don’t have a trq wrench now’s the time to buy one as everything is plastic and needs to be properly trq. Tekton is like the old craftsman. Good tools and prices with a no ask warranty. For the price of this item I’m going to put it on our 2018 forester too even though everything if fine with that car. It’s the crosstrek that’s sloppy. I think I’ll be doing the pitch mount next as there’s still too much movement for my liking.

I installed this and have the pitch mount from Perrin installed and have noticed the cvt shifts have become smoother. I would say 20-25 percent improvement. I can’t really hear the whine noise but I definitely can feel more rumble in my car compared to not having it, also love subimods fast shipping as usual.

It's works wonders for acceleration. Stiffens the entire feel of the car up. Only thi g you have to get uses to is the whine of the SPT transmission as it is more prevalent with this accessory. But it allows you to nail paddle timing

After exhaustive research and ultimately buying one, there is a negligible improvement in shifting and CVT response. Most notable change was the "sounds like a bad CV joint" sounds from hard acceleration in turns despite following installation and lubrication instructions to the T. Even tried using a lithium based Gattling Gun lubricant from Militec create a friction free surface with the same results.The amount on NVH created as a result of the install is hardly worth the 45 bucks. You would be better off just buying a transmission mount insert or a full on mount for noticeable improvement. I generally don't give negative reviews on this stuff knowing that there are certain tradeoffs with performance products, however this item in particular just doesn't live up to the Perrin name.
