Paired with the Overtake brass shifter bushing (and cool blue washer) on top of the factory STI shifter, and it's lovely to row the gears knowing there's a Terminator Loon underneath my hand. Helps (along with the CDV delete and all the usual bushings/mounts swapped) with the notorious 1-2 shift.
Now for the installation. On stands, in my driveway, without removing the transmission carrier, it was absolutely miserable. I still have half a dozen scabs from working in such a tight space. Get a set of punches off Amazon or from HF that are the right sizes, absolutely essential for the roll pins which weren't that bad compared to other aspects. The top bolt on that rear shield is a huge pain but on my Connecticut-wintered 25k-mile VB, I had the absolute worst time getting my factory shift plate off. Much easier on my old 2015 Forester with 150k miles somehow. PB blaster helped with the factory plate, but it took many dozens of millimeter-spanning back and forth wiggles and untold curses to get the factory plate off finally. Install of new plate was comparatively cake.
I will say I had a question about an included washer in the roll pin pack, called Overtake who specifically advertise real support, and got a human straight off the bat. He went to ask the guy who designed the plate and in less than 5 minutes I was back installing with the exact clarification needed. FYI, the washer in the roll pin pack goes on the new shift plate's pin, before the shift cable with bushing slides on.
