DETAILS
The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86 carry a legacy of drifting, rallying, and carving corners, but the FA24’s stock oil cooling system struggles to keep up during extended hard driving. The factory liquid-to-liquid cooler forces engine coolant to manage both coolant and oil temperatures—an setup that quickly becomes overwhelmed when airflow is limited and heat builds fast.
The Mishimoto performance oil cooler kit solves this by adding a dedicated 19-row external cooler designed solely to manage oil temperature. By removing heat from the oil before it reaches the coolant, the entire system runs more efficiently, especially during long track sessions, hot-lapping, or aggressive street driving. The additional 0.75 quarts of oil capacity further improves cooling stability and lubrication under high load.
A direct-fit bracket positions the cooler front and center in the grille for optimal airflow, while -10AN braided-steel lines and heat-shielding sleeves ensure reliable flow and long-term durability. The kit arrives complete with everything needed for a seamless installation.
For race cars requiring immediate full-flow cooling, this non-thermostatic kit retains the factory cooler for quick heat-up before hammering on track.

Regards,
this oil cooler for my GR86 has been a excellent mod for my engine, without pushing my car to hard i typically average an oil temperature around 210-220°. And if i did try to push the car then it would shoot up to around 230+. I enjoy being able to push my car when i need to but i also don’t want to burn through oil and degrade it sooner. changing my oil from 0w-20 to 5w-20 mobile 1 extended performance helps and i can maintain 3k miles before my oil starts to go down. But after adding my oil cooler and taking the canyon road where i live by or taking the highway as a commuter, and now continuing to use the same oil and pushing the car harder than i usually do, my oil template averages
190-195° on the highway maintaining 85mph for more than 40 minutes and around 195-210° on the canyon road! i’m currently passed my 3k mile oil change mark and my oil level is still full and it doesn’t look burnt. i say this oil cooler is an excellent product and visually appealing. My only concern is that i’m not sure if i can run the HKS cold air intake system for my 86 but I’ll just have to find out the day that i buy the product. I highly recommend this cooling system for people who commute.
