The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86 have a lineage built on linking corners with seamless drifts and bombing down gravel forest roads chasing sector times. But, despite their heritage, the BRZ and GR86 need a little help keeping up with modern performance needs. The stock oil cooling system on the FA24 uses a liquid-to-liquid cooler that transfers heat from the oil to the engine coolant. The issue is that coolant is doing double-duty trying to cool the engine and its oil; and when you spend 20 minutes banging off the limiter and sliding sideways, airflow through the radiator is at a minimum, while heat buildup is at a maximum. The solution is a supplemental cooler whose only job is to cool the engine oil. Luckily, we’ve developed that solution.
This Mishimoto performance oil cooler kit for your 2022+ Subaru BRZ or Toyota GR86 adds a robust 19-row external oil cooler to the otherwise anemic stock system. This cooler takes the load off your engine coolant and adds 0.75 quarts of oil to the system for even greater cooling and lubricating performance. In thermostatic spec, this kit eliminates the liquid-to-liquid cooler, reducing failure points and allowing each system to operate completely independently for maximum performance. For dedicated race cars that need full cooling, right away, the non-thermostatic option retains the stock cooler to help get oil temps and viscosity in operating range fast.
The direct-fit mounting bracket places the oil cooler front and center in the grille for maximum airflow, while the -10AN braided-steel lines ensure constant flow through the system. The included heat shielding sleeve adds another layer of protection against abrasion while keeping engine bay heat out of the oil.
This performance oil cooler kit includes everything you need for installation, so you can get your 2022+ BRZ or GR86 back on the street or track in no time. Like all Mishimoto products, this kit is backed by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.
