DETAILS
Blow-by is an unavoidable side effect of forced induction. In the 2022+ Subaru WRX with the FA24DIT engine, pressurized gases recirculated through the PCV system carry tiny oil particles that coat your intake system and valves. Over time, this leads to carbon buildup on intake valves and can lower octane levels in the combustion chamber, reducing performance and increasing the risk of detonation. Mishimoto’s Baffled Oil Catch Can helps prevent these issues by separating oil particles from the air before they return to your intake.
Air entering the catch can flows through a 50-micron bronze filter and an internal air diverter baffle, which encourages condensation and collects oil until it can safely drain into the canister. This ensures only clean air flows back into your intake system, maintaining performance and engine longevity. Unlike most AOS systems, Mishimoto catch cans are not heated, so all blow-by—including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors—is trapped and kept out of your engine permanently. The can is fully washable, eliminating the need to replace the filtration system over time.
The kit includes a billet 6061 aluminum can sealed with Viton™ O-rings, black CNC-machined aluminum fittings, a direct-fit powder-coated steel bracket, and pre-formed, application-specific hoses with factory-style quick-disconnect fittings for a clean, professional installation.
Features:
Really nice fit and finish and was pretty easy to install. Looks really clean installed almost like it’s a factory part. Would recommend for sure and not to mention super fast service from Subimods.
Kevin,
Thank you for your 5 Star Review of the Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can System. We are glad it installed cleanly and looks factory fresh. Your recommendation means a lot!
Regards,
I usually would buy Radium but in this case I went with this one because it'll fit with the AMS CAI with box. Comes with pre cut hoses and install couldn't be easier. Catch can has pretty decent baffling. Will help with knock.
Daz,
Mishimoto makes great products, and this catch can is no exception. We are glad it fit perfectly with your setup! Thank you for your 5-Star Review!
Regards,
Please dont get a catch can without baffles, it wont help. I bought this catch can (PCV side) when my 22 wrx had 5k miles, it has caught so much oil and water. if your Direct injection wrx (2015-current) is stock or modded, get one, it will save your engine believe me.
Jeff,
A baffled catch can is the way to go, and it is great to hear the Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can is catching all that unwanted oil and moisture. A must-have for any direct injection WRX! Thank you for taking the time to leave a 5 Star Review!
Regards,
Haven’t had this part on long enough to determine how well it works but the install was a lot easier than expected and it gives me some peace of mind especially having a tuned vehicle
John,
Thank you for your 5 Star Review! We are thrilled installation was easier than expected. It is a great peace-of-mind mod, especially for a tuned vehicle. Enjoy!
Regards,
This catch can is high quality and has a good design. i previously had a boomba one and it never caught anything because it didn't have any baffles. this one does and does catch oil and water. definitely follow install instructions because it makes it a lot easier. only complaint is that is kinda awkward to unscrew it because there is very limited space for your hand.
Thanks for the recommendation, Austin!
The baffles definitely make a difference in actually catching oil and moisture. Good tip on the install—following the instructions can save a lot of hassle. The tight space is a bit of a drawback, but it sounds like the performance makes up for it! Thank you for taking the time to leave a 5 Star Review!
