DETAILS

The high friction level of Hawk HP Plus pads will be more responsive than most standard original brakes and their high resistance to brake fade makes them a superb upgrade for high performance streetcars used in competition, for high speed driving or that encounter repetitive heavy braking.

Warning! Due to the dramatic friction levels produced by this product to achieve "race-level" braking, rotor wear, noise, dust, and pad life may be affected.

Details:

  • Low to mid temperature range
  • Fade resistant
  • Smooth & predictable torque
  • Ideal for Autocross
  • All Hawk Performance compounds are not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors. Hawk pads are designed to work with Iron/Metal rotors.
  • 100-800 F operating temperatures
  • 300-600 F optimal temperature range

Brake pads are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Pads should be replaced when approximately 1/8th inch of friction material remains on the steel backing plate.

Note: Even though Hawk Performance burnishes its brake pads as a final step in the factory, all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

Holy stopping power, Batman

Just installed these on my 2019 STi, reusing the stock rotors. I followed the bedding-in procedure, but have otherwise not really broken them in yet beyond a single 30 mile commute, which included 10 miles of canyon road. So far I can say these pads produce a stiff pedal and very good cold bite. I used the provided lube on the side edges and backsides of the backing plates (basically anywhere the pads contact the caliper body and pistons), and so far no squealing (my OEMs squealed under light braking in town constantly). I believe I do notice a bit of the grinding sound and feel of these more aggressive pads as they engage the rotors, but that is to be expected. I can't yet comment on their performance under duress and heavy use, but I'm confident they'll live up to their claims. Expensive but worth it. They feel like a significant upgrade over the factory pads.

Zachary,

I run Hawk Pads on all of my vehicles not only on my daily WRX but on my track car as well! The Hawk HP Plus Pads are phenomenal pads and provide amazing stopping power! The bedding process is extremely important for these pads! Thank you for the 5 Star Review!

Regards,
