Intercooler Core
The core is the heart of any FMIC system—get it right, and everything else falls into place. Using over a decade of intercooler R&D, GrimmSpeed designed a fully custom cross-flow core tailored specifically for EJ-powered STIs. Internal fin density, external fin geometry, and cast end tanks were optimized together to produce:
Extremely low pressure drop
Outstanding temperature reduction
Consistent performance under all driving conditions
Unlike many front-mount options, this kit retains factory coolant and washer reservoirs and avoids any major chassis modification. The included steel mounting brackets keep the intercooler firmly supported, even under aggressive track driving.
Light bumper trimming is required for the large core, and 2008–10 models will need a fog light delete.
Intercooler Piping
A high-performance core needs equally capable piping. GrimmSpeed’s piping system is constructed from:
.090”-wall, 2.5” 6061 aluminum
Large-radius CNC mandrel bends for smooth, unrestricted airflow
Bead-rolled ends to lock securely into the included 5-ply silicone couplers
Every pipe is finished in a durable powder coat that complements other GrimmSpeed components while also offering corrosion protection. Routing is engineered for OE fitment, allowing you to retain factory accessories with minimal adjustment.

Quality product with perfect fitment
I had purchased a separate FMIC for my car, but due to doing an aftermarket turbo, that kit wouldn’t fit without modification. The Grimmspeed FMIC kit fit perfectly, simple to install, and they also offer a silicone adapter for traditional or aftermarket turbos.

Grimmspeed has designed this kit to retain a HUGE core, but does not require you to cut portions of your bumper cover or light housings, and don’t require replacing or relocating components such as the washer tank or coolant reservoir in order for the piping to fit.

after cutting the hood scoop the kit finally fit (KINDA) 1 of the main pices of pipe does not fit correctly but I made it work for now....
