GrimmSpeed headers for the 2015–2021 WRX are engineered to maximize performance, durability, and fitment. Unlike OEM manifolds, which have flow restrictions from neckdowns, inefficient merge collectors, and suboptimal angles, our headers are designed for smooth, consistent exhaust flow to the turbo.

Design & Performance:

True equal-length runners CNC bent and trimmed as a single piece, with less than 1% variance and maximum 5° difference in bends for consistent pulse timing.
Cast merge collector with optimized inlet/outlet angles ensures smooth, low-restriction flow and eliminates opposing exhaust pulses.
Thicker 304 stainless tubing and flanges for added durability, longevity, and gasket sealing.
Welded flange design improves flow from head to runner.
Fits between the stock skid plate and oil pan with no clearance issues.
Includes J-pipe and turbo bracket for retained support.

Great quality as always from grimmspeed, fitment was a little off on the cylinder heads, but not bad. Overall very happy with the purchase, and they sound good as well, almost not noticeable at idle but you can tell when you open it up on the throttle

Do it right and keep it cool

Had a local shop ceramic coat my header since the stock heat shielding doesn't fit. Keeps under hood temps low and helps keep the heat moving through the exhaust instead of radiating in the engine bay. Good to know the heat shielding for the stock turbo does fit the Boostlab 54X.

Headers

If you can do these at same time as exhaust really makes a huge difference. Don't go cheap with these the welds are sloppy if you do so.

Poor fitment with aftermarket downpipe

I waited 3 months for this header to show up and I am not happy. The fitment is off. My MAPerformance catted downpipe now hits the chassis right by the steering rack. It also causes the cat to hit and push the heat shield for the water pump right up into the pulley. Its the the header causing the issue because this was not happening with the stock header. This sucks because I paid to have the header ceramic coated. Perhaps it works ok with the stock cat system but not with the aftermarket.
