Design & Engineering
This intake was engineered to reduce restriction, simplify tuning, and deliver predictable airflow. Minimal bends, a precision air straightener, and a thoughtfully placed filter keep airflow smooth and safe for tuners. The StealthBox heatshield pulls in cooler air while hiding unsightly factory components for a clean, OEM-plus look. The filter sits high enough to avoid water ingestion, and integrated mounts retain factory coolant hose clips for proper routing.

Materials & Build Quality
Every component is built to GrimmSpeed standards:

Performance & Tuning
This intake is extremely tuner-friendly thanks to its stable airflow characteristics. On a VF39-equipped 2006 WRX running 91 octane, simply swapping the intake (and adjusting AFR to match stock levels) provided:

  • +13 ft-lbs and +18 hp gains across the powerband
  • Up to 1.5 psi more boost at redline due to reduced restriction
    The result is stronger mid-range punch, improved top-end pull, and consistent, predictable MAF readings for easy tuning.
