The long-awaited return of the GrimmSpeed Bypass Valves is here! Our valves have been a highly sought-after product, but due to the intensive assembly process, it has been hard to keep them on the shelves, which in turn causes frustration among our customers. To address this issue, our team has worked diligently to redesign the BPV to make the assembly process more efficient, while also improving its manufacturability, performance, and overall reliability.

What's New for Version 2?

  • Redesigned the internal piston to eliminate the potential failure points we saw in our V1 design.
  • Adjusted tension of the internal spring to better suit the operating environments we've seen after further testing and development.
  • Updated the design of the main body for a better CNC milling finish.
  • Exchanged the internal brass piston from V1 for a lighter weight hard aluminum piston, resulting in better valve response.
  • Removed the inspection port which was primarily used for quality control, but it is not required with the new design.

In testing of stock bypass valves, we saw repeated internal leakage at boost levels as low as 8psi in the FA20 and 19psi in the EJ variant. As always the case with GrimmSpeed Products, we focus on form AND function, and these units are no exception. We aimed to create an extremely durable bypass valve that could hold double the pressure of the stock unit, while still being a stylish part that compliments the other GrimmSpeed Parts under your hood.

Pssshhhhhhhht!

Compared to your OEM BPV this unit oozes quality. Make sure you get the grimmspeed turbo inlet as the two are made for each other. NOTE: The vacuum line that goes to the BPV is barely long enough because the nipple on the BPV is shorter than stock. You’ll either want to zip tie it down or get a longer line and trim to size.

Same deal as my charge pipe. I sent it to the wrong address but fixed it through support before it was shipped. Packaging for both was great neither parts could move around in the boxes. Only thing I have to "complain" about would be I expected both to come in at the sametime maybe even same box that's okay though it's not a big deal just confused me little bit. Again thank you guys for putting in work that noone else sees I'm sure it can be stressful. How would we mod our cars without you guys working hard to keep your customer happy and I em very pleased.

Grimmspeed V2 is a great bpv!

Nice quality bpv by grimmspeed looks and sounds great! Fitment with my Cobb cast turbo inlet wasn’t great. I wanted the Cobb cast turbo inlet as it has slightly more volume because of the port matched turbo side than the gs. But what should’ve been an easy install was a pita. Maybe upgrading the charge pipe would help but in hindsight I would probably just use the Cobb bypass valve instead of the gs as it doesn’t fit great with the Cobb inlet. I really had to finagle it to get the gs bpv to mount to the cobb inlet and fit the charge pipe. If you’re dead set on this bpv I would definitely buy the grimmspeed turbo inlet or you’ll be fighting to get this mounted on the cobb inlet like I did.
