This is a bolt-on turbo kit developed exclusively for the GR86/BRZ. After testing multiple turbochargers to match the FA24 engine, we selected the best combination of compressor wheel, cover, and exhaust housing. The turbo starts working smoothly from low revolutions, and you can feel the acceleration all at once up to around 6000 rpm.
Because the lateral bending and torsional rigidity of the body has been improved compared to the previous model (ZN6/ZC6) and because of safety considerations, we have succeeded in making this a bolt-on kit that maintains the stock body by minimizing the amount of body modification that is common with aftermarket turbo kits. Installation time has been reduced by approximately 1.5 hours compared to our previous turbo kit.
Without changing the fuel system of a stock engine, the set boost pressure is 39.2 to 44.1 kpa (0.4 to 0.45 kg/cm2), and the maximum output is 50 PS (approximately 290 PS) higher than the standard, and the maximum torque is 39 kg-m at 3800 rpm (based on in-house testing). You can feel the acceleration unique to turbochargers from around 2800 rpm, and it demonstrates its power not only in city driving but also on winding roads and circuits.
The shape of the air-cooled intercooler core has been changed to reduce overheating caused by rising intake temperature and power loss in summer. This allows for a wider range of settings and makes it possible to accommodate future power increases.
