Gates hoses are factory molded and are manufactured to meet or exceed the high demands of OEM build quality. Additionally, Gates hoses are engineered to resist electrochemical degradation which is the leading cause of hose failure.

Here are some key features:

Pre-shaped to fit and to ensure perfectly sealed connections
Aramid or rayon knit reinforcement (depending on the application)
Temperature range from -40°C to +100°C, occasionally to +110°C
Maximum working pressure for hoses with ID smaller than or equal to 40 mm is 0.4 MPa; for hoses with ID greater than 40 mm 0.3 MP
This hose will come ready for the installation.

Defective - Subimods should never have been shipped this to me

The one star is shared by Subimods in conjunction with the hose which had a manufacturing defect where the rubber was rolled and melted into the inside that made 3/8" flap about 1" long on the radiator end. Subimods never should have let his hose make it into the hands of a customer - shame on you. Given the fact that getting parts takes weeks now instead of days I decided not to send the hose back in favor of using utility knife to cut the flap away to get the car back on the road. I regret not taking pictures and sending the hose back because despite my trimming efforts it leaked under full temp pressure. With OEM coolant at $29/bottle and the job requiring two bottles, I resorted to tightening the hose clamp so tight that any further would have broken the clamp. This is. of course, being done while laying on the ground in a pool of anti-freeze. Suffice it to say I was pretty pissed off, otherwise it fit fine "...besides that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?"

Unfortunately there are times where a manufacturer has a defect with their product and it slips into the dealer network.
