Exedy Stage 3 Hyper Single Metallic Disc Clutch Kit 2004-2021 STI / 2006-2009 Legacy Spec B

The EXEDY Hyper Single Series clutch is engineered for moderately modified vehicles that demand more performance than stock but don’t require a multi-plate clutch. Like Exedy multi-plate kits, it features a purple anodized forged aluminum cover, which is stiffer than stamped steel covers, providing higher lever ratios while keeping pedal effort manageable. Unlike pressed-metal covers, there’s no clamp load deflection, ensuring consistent engagement under high-stress conditions.

The pressure plate incorporates turbine-style airflow vanes that improve cooling during extreme use, helping reduce wear and extend clutch life. Each Hyper Single clutch comes with a chromoly steel flywheel and is supplied with a 6-puck cerametallic facing and spring-centered damper disc assembly. 

The lightweight chromoly flywheel enhances engine response, reduces rotational inertia, and allows smoother, quicker shifts with less stress on transmission synchros. Combined with higher clamp loads and cerametallic facings, the Hyper Single clutch delivers roughly twice the holding torque of OEM units, outperforming most other single-disc clutches while maintaining excellent drivability.
