The ETS Mid-Pipe is a performance enhancing modification designed to increase horsepower and torque while improving throttle response as well as reducing turbo lag. This is achieved through smooth mandrel bends that limit exhaust turbulence and backpressure under acceleration to allow the turbo to react faster under throttle. Additionally, the increased piping diameter allows better flow throughout the entire exhaust system that creates a more aggressive sound.
This mid pipe has been designed with high-grade stainless steel materials that will provide your vehicle with years of performance, and exhaust hangers are welded onto the stock location to make this exhaust component a direct fitment without the need to further modify the body or chassis. Additionally, exhaust gaskets, a v-band clamp, as well as the miscellaneous hardware will be included to make this mid pipe ready for installation.
I’ve had the ETS mid pipe on my 17 WRX for about a week now with everything else being stock. Don’t expect it to be ridiculously loud with the stock j pipe. It adds a bit more grunt and depth of the sound that the FA20 produces with a little more volume, but again with a stock j pipe it’s not ridiculously loud which I guess is a good thing for those trying to keep it mildly spicy. It fits an EOS axle back so I would say it lines up with most axle backs. Be prepared however, to finagle and coerce your axle back because the left side will not be center or hang up where you will want it. Again, with some finagling and coercing you can place it where it needs to be. All in all 4 stars, great sound, mild tone with some small axle back alignment issues.
Chris,
Thank you for the positive review! The ETS mid-pipe is a great upgrade from stock, providing more power, torque and sound! It is usually best to purchase a full cat-back setup rather than trying to match up different manufacturers of axle-backs and mid-pipes. This is most likely why you had some trouble aligning everything up the way you wanted it.
