COBB Tuning SF Intake removes a pre-turbo restriction in the stock intake system. The SF Intake intake system utilizes several unique features in an effort to maintain optimal flow for performance while minimizing turbulence that can cause engine management problems. From a custom conical cloth air-filter element, a CFD-designed velocity stack leads to an unique air flow straightener grid designed to smooth the incoming air flow as it passes the Mass Air Flow sensor for precise readings. The intake utilizes a one piece design constructed from a high temperature plastic composite, saving weight and reducing heat transfer. The COBB Tuning SF Intake system for the 2008+ WRX/STI requires use of specific OTS (off the shelf mapping) provided for their AccessPORT ecu tuning device.

Great Modification

Cobb parts always fit perfectly with no problems. My 2012 WRX hatch is my second Cobb modified car and I'm just getting started on the Sube and love being a part of the Subaru community. The turbo intake sound is amazing and the stage 1+ SF tune feels even better than stock. I can't wait to do the downpipe and exhaust for the next level. Pulls noticeably harder and smoothly. Paired with a TurboSmart BOV, adjusted correctly, the turbo noises are excellent. Also have an axel back muffler delete for now and love the sound all around. SubiMods have delivered everything I've ordered in an unbelievably fast time. My only suggestion would be to get the Cobb air box, which I plan to next. Even on the highway cruising I've noticed my intake air temps are noticeably higher. Not extremely so but noticeably higher. I would recommend to anyone to go for the intake, assuming you have an AccessPort because you wont get any benefits without it, and to order from SubiMods.

Upon initial install I discovered how restrictive the stock Oem intake can be for the boxer motors so I took it upon myself to get this instead. Not only does it breathe better it absolutely sounds insane. Would highly recommend despite others views.
