The SF Intake & Airbox combo/kit includes two great products offered in a package at reduced pricing.

The C.A.R.B. certified COBB Tuning SF Intake for the Subaru Legacy GT utilizes COBB's custom design to maintain optimal flow while minimizing turbulence found with many aftermarket intake systems. This configuration provides the most consistent power for everyday use while at the same time allowing some audible performance feedback!

The COBB Tuning SF Air Box was developed to capture the cool air supplied to the SF Intake through the factory intake snorkel. Constructed of 16 ga. Aluminum, the heat shield consists of a one piece surround, directional lid, and stainless fasteners that help reduce a loss of power that could be robbed from your motor by a heated intake charge.

NOTE: COBB Tuning does not yet offer Off-The-Shelf maps for the Legacy GT SF Intake. Custom self-tuning using AccessTUNER Race or professional dyno tuning is required for this intake.  

 

This system utilizes several unique features in an effort to maintain optimal flow for performance while minimizing turbulence that can cause engine management problems. From a custom conical cloth air-filter element, they use a CFD-designed velocity stack leading to an unique air flow straightener grid. This straightener grid is specifically designed to smooth the incoming air flow as it passes the Mass Air Flow sensor for precise readings. This eliminates the "dead spots" experienced by other aftermarket intakes due to turbulence. NO other aftermarket Subaru intake system utilizes these critical design elements.

In order to provide a system that looks as good on the outside as the technical advancements happening on the inside, they utilize a one piece design constructed from a high temperature plastic composite. Not only does this save weight compared to the previous metal design, the plastic composite material offers much better heat rejection properties that help keep intake air temperatures cooler. In contrast, intake systems constructed using metal castings or piping can actually retain underhood heat and in turn heat the incoming air.

Excellent intake, tight fitment

Picked this up for my 2005 OBXT to replace an SPT intake for a stage 1 tune. Fitment was good but VERY tight, ymmv. I was missing one of the OEM mounting points but it still felt solid with the other bolts and the lid secured. Checked it after a few drives and then a month later and no issues to report. AP3 shows intake temps stopped in traffic have improved a little (about 5-7 degrees F) but the most improvement is seen in motion (10-15 degrees F). Unfortunately I never had a stock intake so I can't compare to that. I was concerned the color would look off from my Mishimoto turbo inlet but it's a perfect match!
