The AWE Catback exhaust offers perfect fitment, patented drone-canceling 180 Technology®, aggressive tip options, and a soundtrack that only AWE can deliver, all proudly engineered, designed, and manufactured in-house, in the USA. Presenting the AWE Exhaust Suite for the 2022+ WRX!

The Touring Edition Catback is for drivers who like their BOXER rumble to be deep, hearty, and full of crackles all without any interior drone at cruising speeds. A direct bolt-on, full 3” straight-through design with a resonated mid section and tailored mufflers in the rear, the Touring Edition acts as the sophisticated, drone-free member of the WRX exhaust suite. If you’re looking to liven up your commute while retaining civil in-cabin characteristics, this version is for you.

Thanks to the design and construction of 180 Technology® resonators, the internals will not break down and degrade over time causing tone change. Full-bodied rumble for life from the point of installation.

This configuration provides the best ratio of interior refinement and exterior rumble on the market.

Getting another 1

Going to get another one of these. I had one already but traded my old car and then got another WRX. I do plan on getting another one of these

A huge improvement!

I got a chance to compare this to the STI Performance Mufflers (axle-backs) from Subaru. For about the same price you get this full stainless catback from AWE. This is possibly the best sounding exhaust system you can get for the 2.4L Boxer. You get pops when shifting at high RPMs, much increased whistling sound from the turbo, and a generally much nicer and deeper tone than stock, without being obnoxiously loud. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth the money.

Love the cold start sound

Great, relatively mellow exhaust

This catback is great. Nice deep tone, a little louder than stock, but not overbearing. I'm 35 and not looking for anything obnoxiously loud - I just wanted something with a deeper tone and a little more audible feedback than the stock exhaust, and this is perfect.

Some key notes:
-No noticeable drone so far
-Easy installation
-The QR-scanned installation instructions mentioned there would be a donut gasket provided with the exhaust for mounting to the factory downpipe. There wasn't anything in the box. Reached out to subimods support and they confirmed very quickly I was supposed to use the factory donut gasket, which worked just fine for mounting the AWE catback to the factory downpipe
-There's a bit of a process to test fit everything, making sure the connections are tight enough but not fully torqued in order to assess clearance and final fitment before fully tightening everything down, but the end result is 10/10
-The black tips fit in really nicely with the black bumper and the black bumper trim
-Cold start is a bit obnoxious, but I'd say it's not all that much worse than the cold start with the factory exhaust

Great sound but...

I will say for the price I thought I would get something that Legos together easily. It took a lot of effort to get the tips where they belong then only to find leaks in the joints that are clamped together. Once those have been dealt with, I do absolutely love the sound. I hear more of the boxer sound and pops and bangs when I send it. Zero drone to date.
